We're working hard to bring you our complete website.
In the meantime, we'd love to give you a quick introduction to Aldea Coffee.
Aldea Coffee has close relationships with every farmer who sells us coffee. We live in their communitiy and work alongside them. This lets us proactively help them cultivate the most extraordinary coffees possible. It's pure win/win.
But we don't stop there. We demand the highest standards at every step—processing green coffee beans, cupping coffee lots to ensure premium quality, getting coffee to the US, and making sure it's always roasted well and roasted fresh.
We know our farmers, and we know how good their coffee is. That's why we're so picky. We're passionate about treating Aldea Coffee right at each stage of the process.
We love buying local whenever we can. But how do you buy local if good coffee only grows in the tropics?
Since Aldea Coffee can't be local, we make up for it with transparency. We work with farmers in Honduras and buy the amazing coffee they grow. We share everything we can about them, from their stories to what we pay them. And we make sure their coffee is treated with care at every step 'til it's in your hands.
We know our coffee well, and we're unusually open about it all. We try hard to give Aldea Coffee the spirit of buying local, despite the geographic divide. Call us crazy, but we think that's a whole lot better than not trying at all.
We work in the La Unión region of Honduras. Like many areas of the world where coffee is grown, farmers have limited options. They want to max out their fields, produce outstanding coffee, and explore new opportunites. But without access to the resources they need, it's tough to get ahead.
Aldea Coffee is all about empowering coffee farmers and their families. We're run by Unión MicroFinanza, a not-for-profit organization working for community-driven development in Honduras. We steadfastly work with coffee producers to get the services, skills and opportunities they need to thrive.
We build up coffee farmers, thus building up entire communities. We're all in it together, and we hope you are, too.
We don't like focusing too much on the country our coffee is from. Even when we try explaining the particular region of Honduras we work in, it still feels like we're talking about the wrong thing.
Because when it comes down to it, coffee isn't from a country or a region. Coffee is from Cecilio Vásquez, Amado Reyes, and every other individual farmer who grew it. It's about the farmer, and it's about you.
Aldea Coffee believes this connection is the secret behind truly good coffee. So we try to make this connection as strong as we can. We don't want you to love the Aldea Coffee brand. We want you to love the farmers who grow the coffee. That's why we can't stop talking about them.

We started selling coffee under the Microloan Coffee name over two years ago. Recently, we've been super busy developing a new brand—Aldea Coffee! Now we're nearing the end of the hardest part... the transition from Microloan Coffee to Aldea Coffee.
We're still working on building the full Aldea Coffee site. In the meantime, we just launched our online store. Check it out to see the amazing lineup of coffees we're currently selling. (Try a few and let us know what you think!)
If you've still got any lingering questions, give us a shout below.
